Lorena Santana was born in México and raised in the United States. She is a multidisciplinary artist [performer, writer, director] and currently working on a full length play and a middle-grade novel set on the México/United States border.

She teaches poetry for California Poets in the Schools, is a Teaching Artist with La Jolla Playhouse and AECSD.
